contendor for a great gaming system (5 stars)

Great exercise even without Wii Fit (5 stars)
Customer Reviews
I bought the nintendo wii for my 11 year old child. He loves it so much he can hardly stop playing it. I played some wii games with him such as wii sports and wii play. I am thinking of getting wii fit for the wii to help me excersise. If any of you adult folks want an excersise machine that is more fun than treadmills or weightlifting chairs, the wii will be the object you are looking for. So I suggest all of you great citizens of America go out buy you and your family a nintendo wii.
I'm sure some of you out there are Wii haters, and that's cool. But for the rest of us average-joe mostly non-gamers this is a totally fun system.
It's easy to enjoy all the standard games with only a small level of gaming ability. Just be ready with Tiger Balm when you're done to address the strain in your shoulder joints. I seriously thought about icing mine after a strenuous game of tennis.
Also, this system travels beautifully. Pack it up and take it to the next party you go too.
I know some folks may think lowly of the Wii as it isn't as hardcore of a system (owing to its games) as the other seriously hardcore gaming systems out there, but who died and decided that a video game systems couldn't simply be mindless and fun? Geeze, isn't that how video games started out anyways?
Highly recommend this for couples, families, older folk, tennis players, those who dream of touring withe PBA or PGA and anyone else in between.
I wanted to get Wii Fit, but couldn't find one so I went ahead and just started with the Wii. Much to my surprise, even these games are great exercise and a lot of fun. Try bowling 4 or 5 games with each hand. You've just done about 80 lunges on each side. If you don't feel that the next morning you're in a lot better shape then I am or else you're a whole lot younger!

this is possibly the best game for the Wii. the multiplayer is fantastic and the Wi-Fi is nearly flawless. the only dissapointment is that when playing against the cpu and your in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, there is a good chance they will knock you in 8th or worse, but all of the items in this game could make you go from 12th to 1st, or 1st to 12th.
overall, buy this game. you'll play for hours. so buy it, if you can find it! it's sold out everywhere, and now i know why!
Kart is a very, very good game for the Wii. Minus 1 star for not having more courses to race and for occasional moments where the wireless wheel doesn't communicate your motions to the console.
It's a fun game that takes some getting use to. Once you have the hang of it jump online and play the world or your friends.

Customer Reviews
If you're used to driving a real gas burning vehicle, this will increase you enjoyment of WII driving games ten fold. If you've already mastered driving sims using the classic Nintendo controllers, you'll probably do fine without it.
I've only given 4 out of 5 starts for the overall rating because it's just a piece of plastic, molded like steering wheel. You could probably make something similar for less $ with an old frisbee or pie plate.
If you have more than one Wii controller and more than one person playing Mario Kart, consider the Wii Wheel. While it is not an absolutely essential accessory for playing the game it will improve the gaming environment for all present. :) The Wii Wheel is not that expensive and it will eliminate the fuss over which child gets to play with a real steering wheel. I find I cannot get used to steering with a rectangular block held in my hands, it's just not natural!
Got this extra wheel so we could race each other and it turned out to be a good decision. Mario Kart is a blast, a must have if you own the Wii.

SSBB Review, Interesting but a little bit lack of order (3 stars)
absurd fun (5 stars)
this is a "Must Have" game for Wii (5 stars)
Customer Reviews
This is a fun game but I simply don't give it a 5 stars review because during play I kind of lose the order in the fight I end up pushing buttons randomly and hitting everything but my enemies. I think I need more practice though but I prefer games like Tekken or Mortal Kombat. The other Thing is that it didn't keep my attention for a very long period of time, I play with it just occasionally
a must have for anyone who owns a wii! a definite improvement on the gamecube version of the game, with TONS of side quests and multiple ways of playing the game. although, some of us older gamers might still prefer the comedic and slower speed of the N64 version, this is still all around fun.
This is one of those defining games that is just perfect on the Wii. My 11 year old son begged me to get this game for him and I resisted because he has a few games he just doesn't play. After a week or so of nagging I gave in and bought it for him and...WOW, I am glad we did!
My son and daughter have played this game everyday since it came in over a week ago. We had to kick them off to go outside more than once. I think we got our money's worth in just two days.
Highly recommended!

Fun Game, But I Really Bad Mistake From Nintendo!! (4 stars)
Hours of fun (4 stars)
Love it - Old game is reborn. (5 stars)
Customer Reviews
I did enjoy this game (I beat it three times already). My friend recently purchased the game on his DS Lite (I have a original DS). My friend and I were playing "Mario Vs. Luigi" and we had a blast. We weren't actually fighting in the mode we where just walking around trying to find secrets and glitches!! I was playing as Luigi and got a Fire Flower... I was really angry, Luigi's Fire Balls were RED!! Why not Green?? Nintendo made a big mistake for a fan of Luigi (like me). But I didn't return the game in oh no never. Playing the real game was fun but too easy I found myself beating the game in less than 4 hrs. . Out of this whole game I would say "Mario Vs. Luigi" is the funnest Mode, Playing the real game adds some backup and was pretty fun!!
The game invokes childhood memories of playing the original super mario bros., infused with new memories hours of fun. Once you start the game, it becomes addicting until you get every star in the game.
Nintendo did a great job at making an entertaining video game anyone can enjoy.
Addicting, addicting, addicting. I find myself staying up all hours of the night playing this game. The other mini-games included are also amusing and a nice change to the pace when I need to take a break from the actual game. Highly recommended. A "MUST" for any Mario Bros. fanatic.

Best Game On the Wii (5 stars)
Grossly addicting (5 stars)
A must play! (5 stars)
Customer Reviews
I've had this game since Christmas and love it! It is extremely fun and innovative with the crazy gravity engine. This game is not only fun but looks great for a Wii game. The game does have the basic plot of the Mario franchise: traveling from level to level collecting smaller stars and eventually collecting huge stars all the while trying to rescue Princess Peach and defeat Bowser. It has a fairly good replay value because there is the tough goal of collecting every single star in order to be able to play the game over as Luigi. Overall, in my opinion, this game is the best game released for the wii so far. It's fun for all ages, and yet challenging as well. A definite must have for any wii owner.
When I saw the package, the namby pamby looking characters almost put me off. But reading literally dozens of reviews citing innovative gameplay won me over.
And those reviews were right.
Keeping in mind, this is technically a kids' game, it's easy to immerse one's self into the Mario Galaxy universe to complete the tasks. And if you think that sounds simple, it isn't.
The game's innovations come through the third dimension - literally. Walking up and down areas from a visual perspective that doesn't follow suit, this game excels at transforming the lore it started in 1985 -- and, at first, it comes across as jarring to be fighting nasties from a sideways or even upside down perspective, but that's part of the fun - and lasting value as I've never come across anything like this before. In short, mobility rocks.
If I were to have a gripe, maybe it is too cute-looking, and Nintendo did not need to superglue in the Mario lore for 'marketing and product identification' or whatever the money making term is -- this game is an innovative and creative adventure of its own accord. The Mario aspect is merely icing on a cake so rich it wouldn't have been necessary to include these old trademarks to garner interest.
As usual, Nintendo ups the ante with game focus and niche audiences, which is why the Wii became - and will remain - successful.
And, yeah, it's worth $50. :)
I almost feel obliged to write this review. That's how good Super Mario Galaxy is. The game uses the same mechanics as the two previous 3D Mario platformers (Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine). You have a hub world from which you go to different levels. Upon completion of a level, you receive a star. In Galaxy, you need 60 stars to play the final level and beat the final boss, but that's only half the game. There are really a total of 120 stars, and considering how great this game is, chances are you'll want to get all 120.
So what makes Galaxy so special? How about everything? Mario controls like a charm. His moves haven't changed much(if at all) from Mario 64, but why mess with near perfection? The Wii motion controls are also put to very good use, most notably to grab "starbits" from a distance. The level design in this game is phenomenal. Bending the rules of gravity often plays a big role in Galaxy, and it works very well. The graphics are often stunning, and are not hampered by the Wii's limited graphical capabilities. The music is fantastic, and fits the wondrous space theme of the game.
In short, Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best games of this console generation.

Fun Game (4 stars)
Great for Grown-ups Too (5 stars)
Perfect for young kids (5 stars)
Customer Reviews
I got this for my 7 year old son and he loves it. I would say it is his second favorite game to play on his DS. It isn't a complicated game which makes it a good starter game for kids who are just starting out playing a DS. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was because he beat the game faster than I thought he would. With that said he still enjoys playing it and always has a blast when playing multiplayer with his friend who also owns it.
Just to add another perspective to the many reviews, I'm over fifty, and I've never played a racing game before -- or any of the classic Nintendo video games, for that matter. I bought this one only because of the high ratings and rave reviews. And I'm glad I did!
I've never been much into real-time games, frankly, but I've always liked having one around as a change of pace. Back when home computers were a novelty, I found the occasional Red Baron (a WWI flight sim) game refreshing after many hours of playing chess or turn-based games like Civilization.
That's just why I bought Mario Kart -- as a periodic change of pace from turn-based DS games like Advance Wars, Chessmaster, and Age of Empires. And it fills the bill perfectly. Maybe a little too perfectly, since Mario Kart is often my first choice nowadays.
I was worried that my aging reflexes might not be up to a game like this, but it turns out I can handle it. There are three speeds to choose from, and the slowest is challenging but quite manageable. I'll never master the game, but I can keep my cart on the track most of the time, and I've enjoyed my share of victories.
The race itself is spiced up with various items you can use to either enhance your own performance or interfere with your opponents' progress. And I find this a nice balance. You don't always have the speed or agility to win a straightforward race, but you can sometimes use the items to triumph anyway. Yeah, it's "dirty pool," but it's all in fun. And I think I'd probably lose interest in a straightforward racing game.
The variety of drivers, carts, and tracks (some of which have to be unlocked via skillful play) make for long-term enjoyment. This game does not soon get to where you feel it's the same thing over and over again. Some of the tracks are very challenging indeed, especially at higher speeds.
Anyhow, Mario Kart is lots of fun for young and old alike. One of the best purchases I've made for the DS. No regrets.
The ability for two or more kids to play from one game makes this a great addition to your Nintendo DS collection.
This if fun and family-friendly. I can't say anymore that hasn't already been said in the five-star reviews.

Disappointing (1 stars)

Just plain FUN (4 stars)
Customer Reviews
This was quite a disappointment. I guess I was hoping for a game similar to Super Mario Bros but this was not even near that. There were many boards where I just had to sit and watch while the game played on it's own (as 3 other players). I got bored with it. I also did not like the mini games very well as some of them it seemed I could not control the results very well.
I've played lots of the "main" Mario games, but this is my first time playing a Mario Party. It's great fun! And while most of the other Mario games get kind of lame when you go multiplayer, this one is even MORE fun to play with others, which you can do with just one game card.
Pros: Most of the features are available for DS download play with just one game card. This game is simple enough for kids to grasp, but fun enough for adults to want to finish. The game isn't difficult by any means, so if you want the arcade challenge you get from other Mario games, this probably isn't for you. Still, this gives you a sense of competitiveness absent from other Mario games, even when you're just playing against the computer. It also has great replay value, since it's never quite the same game twice. Several different modes of game play are available so that any player is sure to find one they like.
Cons: It would be nice if there were more boards available, since you get through the five included pretty quickly. That said, you still have to play each one several times before you get tired of it. The puzzles included in "puzzle mode" are also painfully dull and simple, so that mode has little value. Also, if you don't have someone else who has a DS that you can play this with, you'll probably get tired of it more quickly.
Bottom line: Overall, I would recommend this game to anyone of any age, particularly if you have someone you can play it with! My only genuine complaint about the game is that there's not enough of it!
Having played most of the Mario Party line, including the newest on Wii I was excited to play the DS version. It DID NOT disappoint. Even tho i very recently played the newest version, the DS version is a lot of fun. Single Player mode is fun, and gets you used to the minigames. Multiplayer, is ofcourse, what the game is really about. My Wife, who is not usually a big video game fan, couldn't put it down. I strongly suggest this for anyone, but especially people who have friends/family that they can do the multiplayer with.

Product DescriptionYou'd think years of defeat would get to a guy, but Bowser just doesn't give up! He's captured Mario and his friends in his pursuit of a crystal that the group collected when it fell from the sky, and he doesn't hesitate to shrink them to miniature size to get rid of them and get his hands on the other four crystals. The mini-heroes have to find the crystals before he does, making their way through giant environments filled with enormous creatures. The single-player campaign takes place in five different settings, each of them ending with a boss. As usual, players have to collect coins and stars, at the same time escaping dangers such as Piranha Plants and other classic creatures from the Mario universe. As they progress through the game, players also can unlock various mini-games, such as Rail Riders, Sweet Sleuth and Goomba Wrangler! When players are tired of exploring the story mode, they can choose one of the other modes, like Puzzle and Minigame. Play with up to four friends on the DS' local Wi-Fi and let the party begin! It takes advantage of the wii remote, and is a very fun game to have. There are a few events that are difficult, but none of them are impossible, and overall, with practice, they are all a lot of fun. It is also pretty easy to unlock the levels, so once that is done, you can have a lot of fun with friends over. It is definately a good party game, and everyone will have a lot of fun and laughs playing this game.
This game takes more energy to complete each event than is necessary. The events are not very entertaining and the game overall is not worth purchasing.
Excellent game and makes use of WII capability very much. More games are enabled as you play more and start winning.
One of the tricks is to select the right kind of character depending on the game you are playing (skill, power or a combination of both etc...).
I haven't played all the games yet, but so far it is great.
